A PROPÓSITO DA CONSTRUÇÃO NAVAL
EM SANTO AMARO
CONCEIÇÃO: "Bruno, vieste parar ao fim do mundo";
BRUNO: "talvez seja o princípio".
Este prenúncio, de 2012, culmina com esta exposição desenvolvida a partir de uma prática de investigação multidisciplinar entre o design e a antropologia.
Foi também uma desafiante experiência de vida e representa uma genuína retribuição da simpatia e generosidade aos Santoamarenses.
Durante este trabalho, tive a oportunidade de vivenciar a última grande recuperação de uma embarcação por um mestre de Santo Amaro. Para mim, o restauro da Espalamaca marcou o fim da era da construção naval em Santo Amaro. Hoje a pequena freguesia enfrenta complexos desafios sobre a preservação da sua identidade e da sua cultura.
Esta exposição é sobre isso ... um possível novo princípio.

ABOUT SHIPBUILDING AT SANTO AMARO
CONCEIÇÃO: "Bruno, you've come to the end of the world"
BRUNO: "maybe it's the beginning".
This prediction, from 2012, culminates in this exhibition developed from a multidisciplinary research practice that combines design and anthropology.
It also represents a challenging life experience and response in gratitude to the genuine kindness and generosity of Santo Amaro's people.
During this project, I had the opportunity to experience the last major ship restoration by a master shipbuilder in Santo Amaro. The restoration of the Espalamaca ship marked the end of the shipbuilding era at Santo Amaro. Today, the small parish faces complex challenges in preserving its identity and culture.
This exhibition is about that ... a possible new beginning.
